Pursuant to the ACTA Operating Principles and Procedures and in accordance with the Federal Communications Commissionâ€™s (FCC) rules and regulations governing the adoption of mandatory technical criteria, the ACTA hereby issues notice of its intent to adopt the above listed proposed technical criteria. To facilitate the review of the document, the proposed technical criteria are available for download and review from the ACTA website for a 30 calendar day comment period.
The public commenting period will conclude at COB on July 9, 2018.
Parties aggrieved by TIA's decision to submit the proposed technical criteria to the ACTA for adoption
may appeal the decision through TIA's ANSI-accredited appeal procedures. Interested parties have 30
calendar days to appeal any aspects of the proposed technical criteria to TIA or the FCC. Parties
appealing the proposed technical criteria also shall provide notice of its appeal to the ACTA.
If no appeals are filed within 30 calendar days, the ACTA will adopt the specified technical criteria and,
in accordance with FCC rules, it presumptively will become valid technical criteria for the protection of
the telephone network from harms caused by the connection of terminal equipment.
Telephone Terminal Equipment (TTE) approved for connection to the Public Switched Telephone
Network (PSTN) shall comply with all applicable regulations of FCC Part 68, with all applicable ACTA
adopted technical criteria, and be registered in the ACTA database.
